Dear Donor / Sponsor / Supporter,
The Western Division of Fiji consisting of three provinces in Viti Levu, Ba, Nadroga-Navosa and Ra. This also includes the Yasawa Islands, Vatulele Island, and Mamanuca Islands. Dengue is endemic to Fiji and requires that constant mitigation work is done to reduce the spread of Mosquito born illness.
As Divisional Health Inspector for Western Division one of the key strategies we are working to deploy is the In2Care Mosquito Trap. We are working with South Pacific Mosquito Control PTE Limited (SPMC) for this purpose.
SPMC is a Registered Fiji company dedicated to reducing Mosquito born illness through the deployment of the Mosquito Trap made by, In2Care BV Marijkeweg 22 - 6709 PG Wageningen - The Netherlands: info @ in2care . org
The Mosquito Trap is currently being sold to governments, pest control operators and mosquito abatement districts in >30 countries worldwide. The product is US-EPA registered (EPA reg no. 91720-1) for professional use against Aedes mosquitoes.
SPMC has already concluded a successful Field Trial at Tropica Resort adjacent to Vunabaka Resort on Malolo Island. SPMC is importing the In2Care Mosquito Traps in small quantities via airfreight; SPMC would like to import larger quantities via Sea Freight to achieve lower cost per unit.
With Donor Support, Minister of Health for Western Division will conduct a detailed survey on all Dengue Hot Spots with the express purpose to determine the exact scope of work and number of traps to cover Hot Spots.
We greatly appreciate your time and consideration of the request of funding.
Thank you
Rakesh Kumar
Divisional Health Inspector Western.
